Designing Star sign symbols

Start by applying a solid color to the background
layer. |

| Double click this layer in layer window to
unflatten it. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply
layer style with the settings shown. |

| Using custom shape tool create a preset 5 pont
star shape. |
|
|
| Populate the background with stars of different
sizes. |
|
|
| Rasterize the layer. Hide the background layer.
Create a rectangular selection of the whole area using rectangular marquee
tool. |

| From edit menu select define pattern. name the
pattern "stars". We'll use this pattern regularly in later steps. |
|
|
| Change the layer mode of stars layer to overlay.
|
|
|
| Create an ellipse using elliptical shape
tool. |
|
|
| Double click the layer to open layer style
window. Apply layer style with the settings shown. We'll use star patter
that we saved in pattern overlay this time. |

|
|
|
|
|
| Create a very thin rounded rectangle using
rounded rectangle shape tool. |
|
|
| Double click the layer to open layer style
window. Apply layer style with the settings shown. copy this layer. In
next few layers we're going to apply same layer style. |

| Create more legs similarly. Rotate each leg as
shown. Paste the same layer style you copied, on each leg. |

|
|
| Create an ellipse using elliptical shape
tool. |
|
|
| Rotate the ellipse a bit. Apply same layer
style. |
|
|
| Duplicate the ellipse layer. scale up and rotate
as shown. |
|
|
| From custom shape tool create a preset moon
shape. Apply same layer style. |
|
|
| Duplicate the layer. Scale down and rotate as
shown. |
|
|
| Similarly create the shapes for the other
side. |
|
|
| Create two circles for the eyes using elliptical
shape tool. Apply same layer style. |
|
|
| Select and merge all cancer layers except of
course the background layer and its star pattern layer. Double click the
merged layer to open layer style window. Apply layer style with the
settings shown. |

| Move this layer below the cancer layer in layer
order in layer palette. Double click the layer to open layer style window.
Apply layer style with the settings shown. |

| Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool
and type the star sign name over it. |
