Welcome To NewFreeTemplates.com Photoshop Tutorials Area - Unrasterized Solid Mercury Text

Hey welcome back to the site, today we are going to make an awesome Unrasterized Solid Mercury Text tutorial. And why "Unrasterized", well, in this way you can change anytime the text and the whole effect will adapt to it, great isn't it? Let's begin.

Step 1:

Make a new white Background 400x150 pixels document, size is not a big issue here but in Photoshop bigger is better always.

Step 2:

Now select your Horizontal Type Tool, you can find it on the tool's menu usually on the left site of your Photoshop window.

Now type the text that you want to look like the Solid Mercury.

We are using a nice Rounded font called Bell Bottom Laser, and it's rounded cause actually the mercury looks rounded, want the font? Sure you can get it here for free.

Step 3:

Now Right Click on your Mercury text layer and select Blending Options

The Pattern that we are using it's called Woven Flat, you can find it on the Patterns Group.

Note:

If you CAN'T find the Pattern and don't know how to load it, just...

Click on the Pattern menu and select the little arrow:

Now select the Patterns Option, and DONE, the Woven Flat must be there by now.

Gradient Overlay:

Now Double Click on your Gradient menu and make one like ours, we are using to colors, a bluish-grey (2d465f), and the classic white (ffffff). You can get creative here and select your own colors, but don't go to far cause remember we are making Solid Mercury Text here.

Finally! Your text is DONE! it should look like ours, great isn't it?

In this way you can make any Unrasterized text look like Slid Mercury, in the other hand you can apply this Style to any of your designs and get a lot of interesting results, just try it out!
